Down the rabbit hole at Design et Nature

Down the rabbit hole at Design et Nature

Put that calf down!”

I never thought I’d hear myself yelling this sentence, and yet I did when my two-year-old happily decided to weightlift a stuffed cow at Design et Nature, a brilliantly bizarre gallery in Brussels. Its address, 37 Darwin Street, speaks volumes and the place elegantly displays both stuffed animals and modern artworks inspired by the ancient craft of taxidermy. I especially love the butterflies collages and other insects on display, gathered in huge frames that make your living room -or whatever place you chose to hang it in- feel like an enchanted botanical garden. Pricey, yes, but definitely a one-way ticket to another, slightly more magical universe.

Someone wasn’t so happy about not getting to lift a stuffed cow. Might I suggest to visit this place without children…?
