Cocoon Craze: La Cabane de Poupette

Voted Best Place To Spend A Rainy Afternoon!

(Actually, Best Place To Spend Any Afternoon -be it summery or wintery. Also: huge library alert!)

Imagine a secret garden tucked away in a Brussels suburb, an ancient lamppost leading the way along a glittering lake, its quacking and croaking inhabitants, and finally: an impossibly cute wooden cabin, lazily resting on the lakeside. La Cabane de Poupette is just that: a bubble away from all the fuss, an escape from hectic city life offering all you need for a refreshing freeze of time. That is: a fluffy bed overlooking the water, a library containing all the Great Essentials of this age (Harry Potter, anyone?), a pond that can serve both for dreamily staring at or swimming in, and a rowing boat that somehow never serves but makes you feel all romantic anyway.

This about sums up everything there is to know about this relaxing little B&B. Guests are served a royal breakfast in the morning and upon request dinner can also be arranged on the pontoon in front of the cabin -or inside in case of bad weather. The place is owned by a professional caterer by the way, which means you can also host rustic diner parties or other events for small groups. In that case, expect a full-on four-course menu, great wines and an endless stream of bubbles. Just like heaven!
