Le Perroquet

Le Perroquet

One of my favorite places for a lunch or quick dinner, I’ve been coming here since I was a teenager. This drop-dead gorgeous little restaurant just below the Grand Sablon treats you to a delicious art nouveau decor, a lot of parrot imagery, and delightful pittas. Although you can also order salads or sweets, it’s the pittas that made it famous: you can choose from over 100 different sorts, which will always be served with four sauces. They’re very small though, my advice is to order two of them from the start. Although people complain about the service and neatness of the place, Le Perroquet is still one of my number ones –plus it is located just between the Grand Sablon and the Marolles, so makes for a perfect place to recover after an extensive thrifting session in Brussel’s second hand neighborhood (This way to discover the Marolles’ best spots).
